Product Description |
| Cut a scene from the USA Network television series Monk, create a promo for Seaworld’s Belief documentary, and master filters and effects as you edit a segment of BBC Motion Gallery's Living Colour documentary. Completely revised for Final Cut Pro 6 and featuring all-new footage, this best-selling, Apple-certified guide provides a strong foundation in all aspects of video editing. Renowned author Diana Weynand starts with basic video editing techniques and takes you all the way through Final Cut Pro’s powerful advanced features. Each chapter presents a complete lesson in an aspect of video editing and finishing, using actual broadcast footage. After marking and editing clips to create a rough cut, you’ll learn how to trim and refine the cut before moving on to complex tasks such as mixing sound, adding titles, creating transitions and motion effects, applying filters, real-time color correcting, and working with multi-format and multi-camera footage. |

A great Paperweight... "Through trial and error, you can try it for yourself" (p. 596)

| Reviewer: R. Barros, |
I have used the Apple Pro Training Series books in the past. They were informative and a wonderful reference series. However, 'Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro 6 - Professional Editing in Final Cut Studio 2' is an extreme disappointment.
It completely lacks information regarding outputting, giving the lame excuse of "Through trial and error, you can try for yourself..." (p. 596).
So, with no real guidance or information, you expect me to go buy the 'Beyond the Basics', or 'The Craft of Editing'? At $50 a crack for each, I don't think so. |
Very Informative and Heavily Influenced My Creativity

| When I first purchased this book for a video class in my college, I thought it was going to be boring and something I was not interested in at all. However, after many weeks of going through that class reading this book and practicing each lesson, this greatly changed my outlook in creativity. Each lesson in the book was well-informed and helpful in the career I am going for. Now, I'm very fond of making videos for myself and others. This book has not let me down and I intend on using it to further my knowledge in video editing. |

| The rest of them builds on the foundation of this book. A little over six hundred pages of material, it provides the reader with the thorough practical knowledge of the most fundamental tools of Final Cut Editing. Any of the more advanced techniques described in the following books are based on simpler methods described here. Extremely useful and practical book. |
Excellent Resource

| This book does a great job of going through the various components of Final Cut Pro. I've been working with the software for some time--mainly taught by friends and by stumbling through until something worked. I wish I'd known this was an option much earlier. I HIGHLY recommend it. |
