It is worthwhile insurance for your iPhone. And, I like the fact that it is less expensive than if you buy it directly from apple store.
tech support alone worth the price

They extend the phone support for two years (from 3 months).
Apple's tech support people are probably the best I have ever dealt with as a whole.
I find that from time to time I need their help and they are very good.
Worth Every Penny

My EDGE iPhone died three times after the first year; each time, Apple cheerily gave me a (refurbished) one in trade. Eventually, it was the best-guess that it was being charged by a port with a faulty voltage. Worth every penny, every time; I wouldn't get the phone without this. I consider it pretty much the cost of doing business with Apple, for better and worse.
To pricey for a non-realistic insurance plan...

The thing is why pay almost 100 dollars more for an extra two years of basic coverage when that coverage does not include things that will most likely happen to my iphone, such as consumer error (accidental damage, etc), acts of god, and crime? If I do choose an extra protection plan Id rather pay a lil extra cash and get Square Trade's plan which does cover the aforementioned claims, b/w a $50 deductible... this is a small price to pay for the typical $250 to $300 in damages cause I dropped my iphone down a staircase, or god made rain which bathed and/or then drowned my iphone. I could go on but you get the idea. If anything the Applecare plan should be definitely less than $50 just to make me consider it after reading the terms in the "fine print" ($25? w/ a reasonable deductible). Me personally, instead of Applecare, I will pocket the $70 and buy the costly iphone accessories.
CAREFUL: Does NOT cover accidental damages

Read the terms carefully and understand before buying. It DOES NOT cover accidental damages, breakage or theft. This is only a warranty against manufacturing defects and battery life under 2 years. Any manufacturing defects - you will probably uncover them long before the 1 year included warranty expires. Any the battery dying before 2 years - the chances of that are pretty slim IMHO.
