Snaps loosen

| Seems great at first...goes on easily...sleek look....but then after only 2.5 months the snaps on the bottom part are loose to the point where it won't stay attached anymore. |

When I first bought my macbook, I had done some good research on covers and bought this one the same day. Immediately put it on my computer and it was gorgeous!!!! Loved it. So glossy and shiny and easy to snap on. However, I've had it for 4 months now and 3 of the 4 snaps on the bottom section have broken off. So now, my bottom cover flaps around when I pick it up. I'll probably just throw it away. I think the snap on parts may have been weakened when I took the cover off to clean some spots under it. It had just a bit of dust and such under the cover and I thought it'd be nice to give everything a wipe down. well, in the weeks that followed, the little snaps have mysteriously gone. So, If you do get this cover, I wouldn't recommend taking it off for any reason unless you are ready to buy another one.
I would buy another of these covers if they were cheaper. I just can't justify spending another $40 when I'll have to replace it again. |

| Even though this is just a plastic cover for my Mac it really does fit well and adds very little weight to the overall. My wife and I have always used these Speck covers and actually order them at the same time (or earlier) we order new laptops in order to get the new investment protected from the moment we take them out of their shipping boxes. My wife has a pink one on her Macbook ("to give a manly machine a girly look" she says) whereas I always buy the clear ones. They usually retail around $50 from Speck Products themselves but can be found for less at places like Amazon.com (Thanks Amazon!). My suggestion is to visit the manufacturers website <[..]> to see what they have for your machine and then shop online for the best price. To sum it up, if my Speck clear case were to get damaged, lost, cracked, etc., I'd buy another one the same day. |
